The Mayflower's Pilgrimage

The Mayflower was a vessel some people from England took to travel to the States in 1620. The journey was a tough one and it was marked by disease. It left the English coast on September 16 and reached the American coast on November 11.

• Imagine you are one of the passengers in the Mayflower and write your reasons for taking that long journey (why did you risk everything to take that vessel?; Did you travel alone or with any relative or friend?; What did you find in the new country?; Did you ever think of going back to England?).
